Family Learning Events
We cannot offer Family Learning Events at the moment, however, when the restrictions are lifted, we will resume the events we usually offer.
Usually......Throughout the year there are a number of events arranged for parents to come into school to work alongside their child. When these are organised during the school day, each child invites one adult family member to work with them on a range of activities to support particular areas of the curriculum. Over the past year the school has offered a range of events supporting science, maths, phonics, art and reading in Key Stage 1 & 2. Each class participates in at least one learning event each term. Families in the Ladybirds (Reception) have regular Stay & Play sessions where adults and children can learn about the most fun ways to learn new skills through play - phonics, reading, maths, funky fingers, creative and themed sessions.
We all value and appreciate practical help from parents and friends during school sessions. We are not inviting any volunteers at the moment, however, please tell the Head Teacher or class teacher if you would like to give some of your time as a volunteer at our school in the future.. You will be required to complete an application form and to undergo clearance through the DBS system. Please contact the School office for more information.
Helpers are often involved in the following activities: craft skills; clubs; supporting enrichment activities; listening to children read; playing word, number and sound games; changing library books; and supervision on visits.
